Personal notes: This watch must have been commissioned by the "Camel Trophy team" from the great Russian watch makers POLJOT in the 80's or POLJOT International (Alexander Shorokhov), Alzenau near Frankfurt/Main but, then this watch would be dated early 1990's.
I have seen a few of these watches in the past but; my guess is that they were quite expensive when new due to the Poljot 3133 (Valjoux 7734) movement. The back is like a hunter pocket watch fitted with a hinged lid. Open the lid and the mechanical movement is visible through a glass window. The lid can also accommodate a personal souvenir photo or a secret information etc.
This watch has just been repaired and serviced in Berlin. Not sure why I spent so much money on it but, for some reason I like it.
